Economic Analysis
The main task of SAEPR is to support the Ministry of Agriculture by means of providing unbiased economic studies of EU and domestic agricultural policies. To-date the team have prepared several hundreds of such analyses. Their character is mostly sectoral or horizontal, but some studies are often conducted as a prompt response to queries made by decision making bodies or Members of Parliament. In such cases SAEPR provides those interested with a short review of the issue in question.

SAEPR focuses on a broad range of subjects, including, agricultural and rural policies, state support and agricultural markets, the effects of adjustment and accession of Polish agriculture and rural areas to the EU system, Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and its reforms, CAP simplification, particular CAP measures, such as direct payments or market intervention mechanisms.

The cooperation of SAEPR and the Ministry o Agriculture also includes drafting comments on proposals of legal acts and critiques of publications issued by other institutions. The team collaborates with other public administration bodies, academic institutions and organisations operating in the agricultural and rural environment, as well as with EU institutions.

SAEPR experts are referred to as consultants and - together with the National Bank of Poland - participate in drafting periodic forecasts concerning variations of the indexes of food retail prices in Poland.
